Richard Wilding

Richard Wilding is a London based producer and photographer working internationally with museums, galleries and non-governmental organisations on cultural exhibits, online and printed publications. His work is mainly focussed on the Middle East, with current projects in Saudi Arabia and Iraqi Kurdistan.

In 2004, Richard produced a short film about the Mansoojat collection of Arabian costumes which was shown at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, London and subsequently exhibited at the V&A, London. In 2006 he produced the Mansoojat website as a virtual museum of costume and then in 2010 and 2012 he undertook research and photography in Saudi Arabia for a forthcoming book about the traditional costumes and culture. In March 2012 he organised an exhibition of Arabian costumes with Mansoojat in the Great Court at The British Museum to coincide with the exhibition Hajj: Journey to the Heart of Islam.

In Spring 2014, Richard co-ordinated two exhibitions in Madinah, consisting of Word, an exhibition of calligraphy works lent from the British Museum, London and Illumination, the first major photography exhibition staged in Saudi Arabia.
